Deeksha is a transfer of spiritual energy that initiates a neurobiological change in the brain that when complete enables the senses to be free from the constant interference of the mind. Deeksha has given to many a natural clarity of perception, spontaneous feelings of joy, inner calmness and a connection to the Oneness in everything.

My Deeksha Story

A few years ago, December 2003 to be exact, when I was planning a trip to India to volunteer in an orphanage, a friend sent an email entitled “a guru near you”.  Of course, I had to see what words of wisdom my friend had sent me.  Not being anything I expected, it was a link to the very primitive website for the Oneness Movement.  This was my first introduction to any words about Deeksha.  Back then, the movement was just beginning and very few westerners had visited India to go through the Enlightenment course.

I tried contacting them to see if I could join them during my travels. At first, I received no response from the organization. So, I trusted, as I usually do, I took this as a sign that this path was not for me.  Many months went by, now in India; the same friend sent me a reminder email about the movement and asked if I was going.  I told him what had happened, meaning nothing, and that I figured I wasn’t meant to go.  But since it was presented to me again, I tried one more time.  This time, the organization contacted me in eleven hours.  In India, this is considered the speed of light!  (Literally, so it turned out.)

I arranged with the Oneness movement to arrive at the end of August of 2004 for a short 10 day course.  Once I got there, my ego was a bit disappointed as I was not new to spiritual growth work and this seemed very primary.  Little did I know!

Through various auspicious events, I was soon switched over to the 21 day course which would soon prove me to be somewhat of a novice, at least to this path.  During my process, I experienced so many amazing things.  Probably the most significant is not the altered states but the limitlessness I felt and continue to feel today.

Over the last several years, hundreds of people have passed under my hands.  I have seen many truly divine changes take place in many people. Most people state that they experience a state of overwhelming peace. Many others have noted that their lives have changed through the awakening of their intuition; their high consciousness now guides them more than ever before.

Deeksha translates “divine benediction”.  Deeksha is most often given by placing hands on the recipients’ heads.  It is said to be a neuro-biological change that slows down the chatter and activity in the parietal lobes and allows the frontal lobe, the intuitive aspect of the brain to govern activity. Deeksha is the initiation into connecting with the Source.
